Honey Chili Potato Recipe

INGREDIENTS FOR HONEY CHILI POTATO RECIPE

  1. 4 medium potatoes
  2. Oil for frying

For the first coating

  1. 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  2. 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  3. 3 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  4. Salt to taste

For second coating

  1. 3 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  2. 3 tablespoon cornflour
  3. ¼th teaspoon black pepper (optional)
  4. 2-3 tablespoon water

For the sauce

  1. 2 tablespoon oil
  2. 4 cloves garlic (chopped)
  3. 3 tablespoon white sesame seeds
  4. 1 teaspoon vinegar
  5. 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  6. 2 tablespoon ketchup
  7. 1+ ½ tablespoon honey
  8. 2 tablespoon spring onion (chopped)
  9. ¼th cup of water
  10. 1 teaspoon cornflour

HONEY CHILI POTATO RECIPE – PREPARATION METHOD

  1. Firstly, peel the potatoes and cut them into French fries shape.
  2. Then wash them in running water to extract starch and set aside.
  3. Secondly, start with the first coating add all the above ingredients in a bowl and give it a mix.
  4. Coat all the potatoes in first coating and deep fry them.
  5. Importantly, add one by one potato to the wok, so they don’t stick together.
  6. Thirdly, mix all the ingredients for second coating until its thick.
  7. Add the potatoes to second coating and again deep fry them in small batches until they are golden brown.

For the sauce

  1. Furthermore, heat oil in a wok and add all the ingredients for sauce except for water and cornflour.
  2. Once the sauce is boiling, in a small bowl add cornflour and water and add altogether to sauce one teaspoon at a time, until it becomes thick.
  3. Add the fried potato fingers and spring onion and toss together so that they are coated evenly with sauce.
  4. Finally, garnish it with some spring onion and sesame seeds and serve hot.

COOKING TIME- 30 minutes

TOTAL TIME- 35 minutes
