Peri-Peri Pasta

Peri-Peri Pasta is famous in Africa. It’s one of the perfect pasta for the spicy food lover. I have never had Peri-Peri Pasta before but I have heard it’s super spicy. I loved this spicy pasta, it was super creamy. I loved the aroma of powder and the texture of the pasta. Yes, my family was not happily eating this because they don’t like spicy food but people who love spicy food will love this delicious creamy peri-peri pasta. The recipe is quite long but does not take long to make if you have you have done pre-preparation. It is super yummy and easy to prepare.

INGREDIENTS FOR PERI-PERI PASTA 

For Boiled Pasta

  1. 1 + ½ Cups Penne Pasta
  2. Water (As Required)
  3. Salt to Taste
  4. 1 Tablespoon Oil

For Veggies

  1. 1 Tablespoon Oil
  2. 3-4 Cloves Garlic (Chopped)
  3. ½ Cup Mushroom
  4. 1 Cup Bell Pepper (Green, Yellow, Red) (Triangle)
  5. ½ Cup Corn
  6. ½ Cup Broccoli Florets (Chopped)
  7. Black Pepper to Taste
  8. 1 Tablespoon Oregano
  9. Salt to Taste
  10. 1 Tablespoon Chili Flakes
  11. 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice

For Peri-Peri Powder

  1. 1 Teaspoon Black Salt
  2. 4 Tablespoon Red Chili Powder
  3. 1/4th Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
  4. 2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  5. 1/4th Teaspoon Ginger Powder
  6. ½ Tablespoon Oregano
  7. 1 Teaspoon Powdered Sugar
  8. Salt to Taste

For Assembling

  1. 4 Tablespoon Butter
  2. 3 Tablespoon All-Purpose flour
  3. 800ml Milk
  4. Salt to Taste
  5. Black Pepper to Taste
  6. 3 Tablespoon Peri-Peri Mix
  7. Veggies
  8. Pasta
  9. Processed Cheese (As Required)
  10. 3-4 Tablespoon Tomato Ketchup

 

PERI-PERI PASTA – PREPARATION METHOD

For Boiled Pasta

  1. Firstly, boil the pasta with enough amount of water by adding salt and oil.

For Veggies

  1. Secondly, add oil, garlic, and sauté for 30 seconds. Then add broccoli, mushroom, corn, bell peppers, salt, black pepper, oregano, chili flakes, and mix it well. Then cover it with a lid and let it cook for a few minutes. Lastly add some lemon juice.

For Peri-Peri Powder

  1. Thirdly, add all the powders to a container cover it with a lid, and shake it well. (You can store this for almost a month.)

For Assembling

  1. Firstly, heat the pan on medium heat, add butter, let it melt then add the flour and whisk it and simultaneously add milk and remove all the lumps.
  2. Secondly, add in the salt, pepper, and peri-peri mix and mix it well and let it cook for a minute.
  3. Thirdly, add in the stir-fried veggies, pasta, and cheese and mix it well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Finally, add in the tomato ketchup and milk if the sauce gets thick. Serve immediately.

PREPARATION TIME- 20 minutes

COOKING TIME- 25 minutes

TOTAL TIME- 45 minutes
